The InHolland college group is under fire for the quality of its degrees, following the publication of a damning report by government inspectors.

The inspectors looked at five different courses and found four of them to be so poor that they risk losing accreditation. In addition, 20 to 25% of students taking these courses were given a degree even though they did not meet the proper standards, the Volkskrant says.
The courses under fire are corporate economics and media and entertainment management in Haarlem and commercial economics and leisure studies in Diemen.

Doekle Terpstra, head of the college group, said InHolland fully accepted the inspectors’ findings and had already announced tough measures to improve standards.
MPs from all parties said the situation was extremely serious and damaging to all students at the college group.
InHolland, which describes itself as a university of applied science in English, has operations in six cities and was formed following the merger of a number of hbo schools.
The college group was criticised earlier for overpaying its executives.
