Heath fire under control

The massive heath fire on the Fochterloƫrveen heathland in Drenthe was brought under control in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Telegraaf reports.

The situation on the ground will be monitored from the air for the rest of the day. The fire has destroyed around a square kilometre of heath, and was put out with the help of helicopters.
Large parts of the east of the country are officially Code Red and Orange because the lack of rain has increased the risk of fire.
