Decorated commando not guilty on drugs charges

A Dutch commando who in 2009 was awarded the Netherlands’ highest military honour for his work in Afghanistan, has been found not guilty of possessing cocaine.

However, the military court in Arnhem has given Marco Kroon 80 hours community service and fined €750 for having four small electric shock weapons and passing three of them on to others.
Kroon had denied the drugs charges but admitted possessing the electric shock devices.
In a statement Kroon said the most important thing about the verdict is that he will be able to look the queen ´straight in the eye´ when he takes part in the Remembrance Day commemorations in Amsterdam on May 4.
