Works council pulls out of Organon closure court case

The works council at the Organon plant in Oss where over 2,000 jobs are under threat has withdrawn its court case against the closure.


The hearing should have opened on Thursday.
According to the Volkskrant, the unions, company management, works council and supervisory board have now agreed to look for alternatives to the drastic reorganisation.
Owner Merck, which wants to close down one production line and the research and development department, has also promised to give more details about the proposed takeover of the operation by an un-named company.
