The Netherlands can join informal G20 seminar

The Netherlands has been invited to join an informal one-day G20 seminar in China, according to finance minister Jan Kees de Jager.

During the meeting, the leaders of the world’s 20 most important economies will discuss the future of the monetary system, De Jager said. Academics and bankers will also be involved.
The Netherlands has not been invited to take part in the next big G20 summit in Cannes later this year and was not at the Seoul meeting either.
However, the Netherlands was an observer at the previous five summits. The snub is thought by many to reflect anger at the country’s decision to pull out of Afghanistan.
