Playstations seized on Dutch judge orders in patent dispute

A consignment of 10,000 Playstation computer game consoles has been impounded at an unnamed port in the Netherlands on the order of a Dutch judge, news agency ANP reports.

The PS3s have been held since the end of February as part of a patent dispute between producer Sony and South Korean firm LG Electronics.
A Sony spokesman said the Netherlands is one of the company’s most important import destinations as a gateway to the rest of mainland Europe.
According to tech news websites most territories are thought to have two to three weeks worth of stock to sell at current rates before the console will start becoming scarce.
