More small firms bailed out

The state spent €153m bailing out very small firms in financial trouble last year, up 27% on 2009, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Wednesday.

The state has a special fund to help small firms in difficulty, but companies only qualify if they can prove they are viable.
Claims from the big cities rose 31%, with Rotterdam leading the way. There the number of companies asking for help rose 50% to 750.
