Holland’s first 130 kph road is the Afsluitdijk

The speed limit on the Afsluitdijk, the stretch of the A7 on the dyke between Wognum in Noord-Holland and Zürich in Friesland, has been increased to 130 kph from Tuesday.

The increase is part of government plans to raise the speed limit from 120 kph on some roads. Others will follow in May.
Transport minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen is quoted as saying in the Telegraaf that people who break the new limit will face ‘tough measures’.
