Government scraps 29,948 civil service job descriptions

The home affairs ministry is eliminating 29,948 of the 30,000 current civil service job descriptions in an effort to make it easier for officials to switch functions and save money.

The 52 job descriptions that will remain once the process is completed in 2012 will include the results, knowledge and expertise civil servants are expected to have.
The ministry hopes the move will lead to tens of millions of euros being saved on defining new jobs.
