Dutchman arrested as centre of pedophile ring

The police in Zaanstreek-Westland confirmed on Tuesday they have arrested a 37-year-old man from Krommenie who is suspected of being the mastermind behind an international online pedophile ring with 60,000 members.

The man, Amir I, will be in court in Haarlem on Tuesday afternoon. He is accused of having child porn and of sexual abuse of a 14-year-old boy in Brazil in 2009, according to website nu.nl.
However, the public prosecution office said on Tuesday they have found no child porn on Amir I’s computer, although it may have been used as contact point by the pedophile ring.
