Bird flu found on poultry farm in Zeeland

A highly infectious variant of bird flu has been indentified on a battery egg farm in Zeeland, the farm ministry said on Friday.

The 127,500 hens on the farm will be destroyed and a one-kilometre ban on poultry transports has been imposed.
The last serious bird flu epidemic in the Netherlands was in 2003.
