Underworld boss shot dead in Amsterdam

A suspected gangland boss was shot dead at close range in the Amsterdam suburb of Watergraafsmeer on Monday.

According to the Telegraaf, the victim was Stanley Hillis, known as the Ouwe (old one), who has spent the past few years living abroad. In the early 1980s he made a couple of spectacular prison escapes.
The paper says Hillis had connections to many of the capital’s most notorious criminals, including Willem Holleeder, Mink Kok, Dino Soeri, Sam Klepper and John Mieremet.
