PSV Eindhoven held on to their five point lead over Amsterdam’s Ajax in this weekend’s football after the two sides met in a goal-less draw.

The two sides also drew in their previous encounter this season.
But Ajax closed the gap slightly on second placed Twente, which lost 2-1 to AZ of Alkmaar after a thrilling end to the match.
After trailing most of the match, Twente equalised in the final minute, only to have victory snatched from them by Erik Falkenburg, four minutes into extra time.
Fifth placed Groningen lost 5-1 to Feyenoord of Rotterdam, who are languishing toward the bottom of the premier league. Georginio Wijnaldum scored four of the goals.
