‘Jack the Pricker’ sentenced to psychiatric prison

The 26-year-old man known as ‘Jack the Pricker’ was on Tuesday sentenced to psychiatric prison with enforced treatment after being found guilty of one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

The court did not sentence him to a jail term after psychiatrists said he is completely insane.
The man confessed to stabbing four people in a string to unprovoked attacks in Lelystad between December 2008 and spring 2009. One of the victims died.
He has been held in a psychiatric prison in Heiloo since his arrest in April 2010.
