ING ‘makes good progress’ despite fragile recovery

Financial services group ING booked net profit of €433m in the final quarter of 2010, taking full year profit to €3.2 bn, the company said on Friday.

Although the economic recovery remains fragile, and financial markets continue to be volatile, ‘ING made good progress in 2010 as we prepare to create strong stand-alone companies for banking and insurance,’ said CEO Jan Hommen in a statement.
The bank’s priorities in 2011 remain preparing the Insurance company for two IPOs and paying back the remainder of its government bail-out loan.
