A second test JSF will cost almost €100m

A second test JSF jet fighter will cost the Netherlands €99.2m, but that could change depending on the dollar, according to information sent to parliament by defence minister Hans Hillen.

The minority coalition has agreed to buy a second test aircraft, and is supported in this by the PVV but has not yet placed a formal order.
The government ordered one plane for testing with a price tag of €113.2m (in 2008). But the cost has since fallen to €99.7m because of the low dollar.
It will be up to the next government to decide whether or not to replace the aging fleet of F16s with the JSF.
