Wins for Twente and Ajax as football season reopens

Amsterdam football club Ajax booked a 2-0 win over arch rival Feyenoord as national league matches resumed on Wednesday night after the winter break.

Trainer Frank de Boer said he was pleased with his team’s performance but they should have scored more.
‘We need someone like Luis Suarez if we want to be champion,’ De Boer is quoted as saying by the AD. ‘That is why we won’t let him go to Liverpool. But we have won four matches without him.’
Suarez is sitting out a seven match suspension for biting another player.
Elsewhere, league number two FC Twente hammered Heracles 5-0, with Marc Janko scoring four of the goals.
