Poll shows dissent on Afghanistan mission

Thursday 06 January 2011

The new training mission to Afghanistan advocated by the government has the support of just 34% of the Dutch population. Those against form a small majority of the 1,600 people questioned: 58%.

The poll conducted by Maurice de Hond shows the majority of Christian Democrat voters are for the mission, while Labour, Socialist Party, GroenLinks, Liberal VVD and PVV voters are against.
