Home owners caught cultivating marijuana should lose their mortgages as punishment, Midden and West-Brabant police chief Frans Heeres is quoted as saying in the Telegraaf.

Heeres told the paper he is in talks with several banks and expects mortgage firms to come up with special clauses covering marijuana cultivation later this year.
Last year, Heeres’ force dismantled 590 plantations and arrested 854 people in connection with the illegal cultivation of cannabis.
