Lung cancer by far biggest killer

Cancer accounted for 42,000 deaths in the Netherlands last year, just under one third of the total, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.


Lung cancer was by far the the biggest killer, accounting for 10,000 deaths – around two-thirds of which were men.
In second place was intestinal cancer. Breast cancer claimed 3,200 lives and prostate cancer 2,500.
