Nine people have been jailed or given community service for their role in a bribery scandal in the construction sector in Limburg.

The former director of Limburg building company Janssen de Jong Infra was jailed for 24 months – 10 suspended – for bribing civil servants between 2004 and 2009.
Among the bribes were trips to the Monaco Grand Prix, Robbie Williams concert tickets and a party to celebrate the birth of a new baby.
A second former director was given a year in jail, six months suspended.
Six civil servants involved in the bribery scandal have also been found guilty. The biggest sentence was a year in jail. Two other people were given community service.
‘People should be able to trust the fact that civil servants do not abuse their position for their own private interests,’ the chief judge is quoted as saying.
Four of the 15 people taken to court were found not guilty.
