International train halted after reports of ‘suspicious’ man

Some 300 passengers were evacuated from an international train from Frankfurt to Amsterdam on Monday night after a female passenger reported a man behaving oddly.

The train was halted in Barneveld and searched but nothing was found. Three farms close to the train were also evacuated as a precaution.
The all clear was given around 00.30 hours.
Media reports say it is unclear why the man, who left the train in Germany, was considered to be acting suspiciously. Eighty police officers were involved in the operation.
