Hospital develops questionnaire to indentify illness

Bronovo hospital in The Hague has developed an internet questionnaire to help people assess their chances of developing one of the 28 most common health problems in the Netherlands, the Telegraaf reports on Monday.

The test has undergone trials at 16 large health practices which have a total of 22,000 patients, the paper says, but does not say how many actually filled in the questionnaire.
However, some 30% of those who did went to their doctor afterwards and 38% of them were found to be more at risk of developing kidney damage, diabetes or heart and artery problems, the paper says.
The basic test for these three health problems is free. The questionnaire to find out about the other 25 illnesses costs €20.
