27,000 take the plunge in New Year swims
A record 27,000 people took part in January 1’s traditional New Year swims, organisers Unox said.
The biggest swim takes place at Scheveningen, near The Hague. This year 10,000 took the plunge.
At least 17 swims were cancelled because of ice in the water.
