Rotterdam port books record year
Rotterdam port booked record throughput in 2010, with an 11% increase on 2009 and 2% increase on the previous record in 2008.
Port authority president Hans Smits told reporters the increase in shipments is ‘better than all expectations.’
The port expects 2011’s results to be even better although Smits warns the effect of government cutbacks will begin to be felt.
