PSV Eindhoven’s Brazilian striker Jonathan Reis is out for the rest of the season after seriously damaging his right knee during Saturday’s match against Roda JC.

An MRI scan on Monday revealed he has torn ligaments. ‘This is a serious injury but at least his cartilage is relatively unscathed and he is only 21-years-old,’ doctor Tjaard Weber is quoted as saying.
The injury is a second blow to league leaders PSV. Star midfielder Ibrahim Afellay is moving to Barcelona after the winter break.
