Mitsubishi stops production in Limburg

Car maker Mitsubishi is stopping production at the Nedcar plant in Born in Limburg province, the Japanese firm said on Thursday, according to the Financieele Dagblad.

The Mitsubishi Colt is currently built from scratch at Nedcar and that will stop at the end of 2012. The plant employs 1,200 people.
However, the company is looking at the option of carrying out assembly work in Born using semi-manufactures imported from Japan.
