Hedge fund Centaurus builds up stake in Draka

Hedge fund Centaurus has build up a 5.21% stake in Dutch cable maker Draka, which is currently at the centre of a takeover battle between Italian and Chinese firms.

Centaurus is known as an activist shareholder and was involved in the fight to divide up engineering group Stork.
Centaurus has also clashed with the management of supermarket group Ahold and chip machinery maker ASM International.
Italy’s Prysmian has offered €17.20 a share for Draka while China’s Xinmao has bid €20.50.
