Tests by television consumer programme Kassa turned up traces of banned chemicals in three out of eight samples of pangasius fish.

Scientists found amounts of the insecticide chlorpyrifos and herbicide trifluarlin, which exceed permitted levels, news agency ANP reports.
The government’s food inspection agency said the amount of banned chemicals was not dangerous to health but that it would begin systematic testing of pangasius, a freshwater catfish.
The fish is farmed in Vietnam, where the chemicals are used to get rid of plants and water insects. Both substances are banned in the Netherlands, ANP said.
