Central bank raises growth forecasts, sees moderate recovery

The moderate economic recovery in the Netherlands will continue for the next two years, the central bank said on Friday, as it raised its growth forecasts.

The bank said the economy will grow 1.7% this year, followed by 1.6% in 2011 and 1.7% again in 2012. In June the bank forecast growth of 1.2% this year and 1.3% in 2011.
The forecasts are in line with predictions made by the government’s CPB macro-economic forecasting agency.
‘The turnaround for households and enterprises will form a broader foundation for the Dutch recovery. But given all the international uncertainty, that foundation will still not be very firm,’ the bank said in a statement.
