The Hague city council to cut 1,000 jobs

The Hague city council will cut its workforce of 7,510 by around 1,000 by 2015, the city’s personnel chief Rabin Baldewsingh told the Telegraaf on Friday.

Around half the jobs will go because of spending cuts already agreed by the council, Baldewsingh said. The others will go because of cuts in national government spending and the recession.
Compulsory redundancies cannot be ruled out, he said.
