PSV strengthens role in Europa League

There were mixed fortunes for Dutch clubs competing in the Europa League competition on Thursday night.


PSV beat Hungarian side Debreceni VSC 3-0 in a comfortable win that boosts the Eindhoven side in Group I. PSV now leads the group with 10 points from four games, and is likely to proceed to the knock-out round.
But FC Utrecht booked its first defeat of the tournament so far, losing 3-1 to Steaua Bucarest in their Group K match. Utrecht are now joint bottom of the group, with three points from three draws.
AZ lost 2-0 to Dynamo Kiev in Group E and also has just three points from four matches.
