ProRail cancels staff party at last minute

Railway network operator ProRail has cancelled a massive staff party to celebrate its 5th anniversary at the last minute, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

The party, to feature ‘numerous Dutch artists’, should have been held in Amsterdam on Thursday evening.
The decision comes a day after MPs called for the company, which is 100% state-owned, to be wound up and replaced by direct transport ministry control.
MPs are angry about a weekend of rail disruption centred on Utrecht after a fire. The incident is the latest in a string of failures to keep trains running, MPs say.
