The policeman who sexually assaulted and murdered a 12-year-old girl who lived close to his home faces 25 years in jail and psychiatric prison.

The public prosecution department said on Friday Sander V should be jailed for so long partly because he was a police officer. ‘Police behaviour should be above reproach… more than that, they have to be trustworthy,’ the public prosecutor said at the trial.
V has admited killing Milly Boele by strangling her with his belt. He buried her body in his garden where it was found a week after she disappeared.
