Water levels in the Maas river are expected to reach a peak in northern Limburg and around Roermond on Monday evening, following several days of heavy rain.

On Sunday, water levels in the river reached some two metres above average, leading to extra vigilance from dyke officials.
In Belgium, three people have died in the floods.
In the Netherlands, there has been some localised flooding and in the east of Noord Brabant province, the local water board has deliberately flooded fields the size of 50 football pitches to ease pressure on the river.
Cellars

A number of roads were flooded in the more hilly regions of Limburg and the fire brigade has been busy pumping out flooded cellars all over the region.
The problem has been made worse because storm drains have become blocked by autumn leaves.
In the northern Limburg town of Baarlo, where three small rivers meet, flooding is widespread. The stream that cuts through the town has widened from two to 50 metres, Nos tv reported on Sunday.
