Funding cuts lead to job losses at ECN energy research centre

Around 100 jobs are to go at the ECN energy research centre in Petten because of an €8m cut in government funding.


The centre, which focuses on developing clean energy sources and reducing energy use. has also been hit by a downturn in contracts, bringing the total budget shortfall to €13m.
The research centre has a current workforce of 700.
