Former CDA minister quits party over Wilders

Former social affairs minister Bert de Vries has left the Christian Democrats because of the party’s alliance with the anti-Islam PVV.


De Vries, one of the founding members of the party when it was created in 1980, says the CDA has become more right wing. In addition, he cannot accept a cabinet formed by the CDA and VVD with tacit support from the PVV.
