Dutchman has bar mitzvah nearly 80 years too late

A 91-year-old Dutch Jew has undergone his coming of age bar mitzvah ceremony, decades after the traditional date, news agency AP reports.

Hans de Leeuw said he did not have the ceremony earlier because of his secular upbringing and World War II.
De Leeuw had told a retired Israeli ambassador about his wish to have a bar mitzvah earlier this year and the diplomat arranged for it to take place in Jerusalem, AP said.
