Cold snap to continue well into December

The cold snap set to hit the country on Thursday will continue until December 7 at least, according to the KNMI weather bureau.

From Wednesday, the winds will come from the north, bringing freezing temperatures at night. During the day, the temperature will rise little above zero, the KNMI says. Sleet is forecast on Wednesday and some snow may fall at the weekend.
The cold weather has been caused by two areas of low pressure, one above the Baltic states and one over Greece.
