The local authority areas of Bloemendaal and Wassenaar had the highest average income per resident in 2008, according to the latest figures from the national statistics office CBS.

Bloemendaal and Wassenaar residents had an average income which was 65% above the national average of €24.600, the research shows.
The poorest households were found in the Groningen local authority area Pekela, where average incomes were 19% below the national figure.
