2,000 armed forces recruits are told there is no job for them
Defence ministry officials have formally contacted some 2,000 recruits to let them know that their services are no longer required, the AD reports.
Some of the recruits were already in the middle of their training period, the paper says.
The defence ministry has been ordered to cut spending by €1bn and up to 10,000 jobs are at risk.
