Youngsters face sharp rise in health insurance

Youngsters aged 18 to 22 will face a 50% hike in their healthcare Insurance next year because they will have to take out extra policies to cover dental care, says comparison website Independer.

The cost of a basic student policy is now around €80 but that will rise some 10% next year. In addition, dental insurance will add another €35 a month to the bill, the website says.
Most young people, however, are able to claim help (zorgtoeslag) with paying their health insurance fees because of their low income.
