Top dressage horse Totilas has reported price tag of €15m

Dutch dressage horse Totilas, which helped Edward Gal to three gold medals at the World championships earlier this month, is to be sold to a German trader for a reported €15m, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.

The previous record price for a dressage horse was €4.5m.
German horse trader Paul Schockemöhle is on the verge of completing the purchase but it is not yet clear if Totilas will be put out to stud or sold on to a new owner, the paper says.
The sale means Gal will be without the horse for next year’s Olympics in London. He was favourite for the gold medal.
