Stop fining motorists who break speed limit by 11kph says PVV

The police should immediately stop fining motorists who are caught doing up to 11 kph more than the permitted speed limit pending the introduction of a new 130 kph limit on motorways, according to PVV MPs.

PVV MP Raymond de Roon has urged new justice minister Ivo Opstelten to order the police to stop issuing fines, news website nu.nl reports. In addition, all fines issued since the coalition accord should was signed should be cancelled, the MP said. The agreement includes a commitment to increase the speed limit.
The PVV is a ‘silent partner’ in the new government, which is formally made up of the right-wing VVD and Christian Democrats.
