Sint film poster worries classification body

Monday 18 October 2010

The film and tv classification body Nicam has had dozens of complaints about the poster for new horror film Sint, which features Sinterklaas – the Dutch originator of Santa Claus.

Nicam says young children have been frightened by the poster, which shows a sinister-looking St Nicholas in silhouette against a full moon.

The body says it can take no action against the poster, but the advertising standards authority is also considering the complaints and will announce its ruling this week.

I watched the trailer...the only horror is in the acting!

I think the real story of Sinterklaas is scary enough. We make kids scared of black people because of the holiday too! This is insane! Leave the poster alone!

I wouldn't bother with the shoes this year if I were Dick Maas

I don't think that the poster is any more frightening and sinister than the many bleached out white Dutch people who smear themselves with black face paint and don afro's every year.
