Police arrest 34 at pro-Wilders demo in Amsterdam

Sunday 31 October 2010

A small group of around 50 members of the English Defence League took part in a demonstration in support of anti-Islam campaigner Geert Wilders on the outskirts of Amsterdam on Saturday, the Parool reports.

The demo had been moved to the edge of the city because police were concerned about the risk of clashes with anti-Wilders demonstrators.

There was a very heavy police presence and the nearest metro station to the event, where anti-Wilders demonstrators had gathered, was sealed off by riot police with horses and dogs.

Police arrested 34 people. Eighteen were picked up for not having id and were released after being fined. Fourteen were arrested for public order offences and were held overnight in custody. Five of those arrested were English, the Parool said.

30 of the arrests were of the left-wing "Anti-Fascists", only 4 pro-Wilders were arrested. Why don't you report that? Your headline has it backwards!

Before the arrival of Wilders not reached us this kind of 'tourism'.
Composed by organized gangs of criminal suspects. Because if Police has arrested them, will be on suspicion of a crime. And about they are organized and coordinated there is no any doubt.
By the way, as we could watch on tv, a lot of them wears hoods and masks. Would not be more comfortable for them wearing burqas. In this season of the year, they would feel warmer.

So, the Netherlands allows foreigners to come into the country, in this case English foreigners, to protest for the PVV, and these foreigners cause trouble and get arrested. Considering the PVV standpoint on foreigners entering NL and causing problems, does this make sense to anyone with an education?

In 1936 British Anti-Fascists beat the British Nazi Party into submission on Cable Street (East London) during some of the most vicious hand-to-hand fighting seen on English sreets in the modern era. Just 3 years later Britain stood firm against Hitler's tyranny.

The Battle of Cable Street will always be a reminder of why fascism must be opposed before it is allowed to grow, less Britain might too have had a Nazi government when Hitler invaded Poland and our world would be a very different place today.

My respect goes out to the brave Ajax fans who defended their city against the EDL and made sure that they won't dare to try to bring their hatred to the Netherlands again!
