Paint maker AkzoNobel earnings rise 21% in third quarter
Chemicals and paint maker AkzoNobel booked net profit of €238m in the third quarter of 2010, up 21% on a year ago.
Growth was marked in Asia and Latin America but lagged in Europe and the US, partly due to the problems affecting the construction sector.
Total sales rose 13% to €3.9bn.
The company says it is ‘cautiously optimistic’ about the full year figures.
