CDA elects new parliamentary chairman

MP Sybrand van Haersma Buma has been elected the new leader of the Christian Democrats in parliament.

He replaces Maxime Verhagen who is joining the new cabinet as economic affairs minister.
Van Haersma Buma, 45, has been an MP since 2002. Support for the CDA almost halved at the June general election. The party now has just 21 MPs.
