Anti tobacco lobby to fight change in smoking ban

Clean Air Nederland (CAN) will go to court if the new right-wing government sticks to its plan to lift the smoking ban on small cafés, reports news agency ANP.

CAN chairman Willem van den Oetelaar said: ‘Thousands of workers would lose their right to a healthy workplace.’
The coalition wants to lift the ban in cafes smaller than 70m2. The ban was introduced in 2008 to protect workers from second-hand smoke.
