Wilders poised to end opposition to EU expansion: RNW

The anti-Islam PVV is to drop its opposition to EU expansion when it signs up to support a new right-wing cabinet, Dutch world service radio reports on Tuesday, quoting political sources.

RNW bases its claims on sources within the Christian Democrats and right-wing VVD who are involved in negotiations with the PVV on forming a new minority government which will have PVV support in parliament.
The three parties are drawing up a coalition agreement based on the economy and a second accord concentrating on policy areas which the PVV will agree to disagree about.
Croatia
RNW says in those second negotiations, the PVV ‘will have to promise to not send the government home’ when the Netherlands votes in favour of Croatia’s accession to the European Union.
Accession negotiations are currently under way with Croatia, Macedonia and Turkey but Croatia is the only country likely to join in the short term, RNW says.
In the past, the PVV has called for Bulgaria and Romania to be thrown out of the EU and a moratorium on new members.
